EVE & LILITH
DIVERSE ATTRACTIONS

***
Zoe Green
The Scotsman

EVE was Adam's second wife, according to this play. Lilith was his first, but proved intractable and left Adam - whereupon Eve was created.

This presents a modern-day version where two women meet at the theatre.
Lilith seduces Eve into spending time with her, although Eve is eager to return to her husband. Lilith is impatient, confiding that her ex-husband was too controlling, so she left him. Shouldn't Eve do the same?...

In the musical interludes, Deborah Klayman and Jessica Martenson really can sing. And there are free apple pies.

Eve & Lilith - 3 Stars (One4Review.com)

A story as old as time, of Eve, some believe the only wife of Adam, and Lilth, some cultures have her as Adam's
first wife, or concubine of Satan himself, is updated as the two women unknowingly meet in a theatre.

Eve (Jessica Martensen), the doting wife and mother, always ready to put her man first, and Lilith
(Deborah Klayman)
, the divorcee, but still involved with her ex. They attend the play and afterwards
retire to a bar for a wine or two where the story linking the two together starts to unfold.

This play written by the two actors and directed by Andrew Raffle is interesting in it's approach to the storyline
and so nice twists are employed to divert the attention from the inevitable conclusion.

"This King Lear is perhaps the most exciting
and revealing current production of what some consider to be Shakespeare’s greatest play."

Henry V
(Anthea West, Remote Goat Reviews)

"Some of the men's parts are played by women, with appropriate edits: this is fine, because the women are so good. Special mention should be made of Tanya Vasey...and Deborah Klayman, who is a fierce Fluellen and a gentle lady-in-waiting."
