
An accomplished performer, Deborah began singing at a young age. She performed in musicals both Edinburgh Acting School and Edinburgh Youth Theatre before beginning her professional training at the University of Northumbria in 1998. She graduated with a 1st Class BA (Hons) Performance degree (which included Acting, Singing, Dance & Physical Theatre) and has since completed a postgraduate diploma at Drama Studio London.
Deborah has worked as a session singer with bands in Edinburgh, Newcastle & London (Stigma, The Psychedelic Breakfast, Allfather), as well as appearing in operas, operettas & concert works. These works include: Hansel & Gretl (Opera Camerata), Andrea Chenier (Edinburgh Grand Opera), and Paul Bunyan (Lipman Theatre). She has also sung with an alternative choir in West London.
Deborah has also appeared in several musicals and has sung in many stage productions, including taking on the dual roles of Mrs Hoare and Tommy in the musical Kiddy-Fiddler On The Roof at the Edinburgh Festival, and playing Mrs Pugh/Polly Garter & others in Under Milk Wood at the Pentameters Theatre. In addition, she sung the lead role of Lilotta Vavoom in recordings of new musical Vavoom. Deborah is also an accomplished cellist, and reads music fluently.
