Hedda Rehearsals – Week One



One week in and rehearsals for Hedda Gabler are well underway!

A lot has been packed in to these first few days. First, the team had to build Chris Hone’s wonderful set so that they could immediately begin to get a feel for the space and work within it. The fabulous costumes, beautifully designed and made by Ilona Kahn, were already on hand to help the company get in to the style and period of the piece – with the ladies of the cast having fun trying to work out how to get in (and out) of their new corsets!

As well as a lengthy discussion with Director Max Lewendel about the social and political climate of Norway in the period the play is set in, there were helpful sessions with Movement Director Carrie Mueller on the etiquette and deportment of the time. Voice coach…
